CNC machine precisely cutting a granite slab with water cooling

Precision manufacturing shortens the distance between design and construction. At Kusser FountainWorks, fabrication defines how a water feature will perform on site and over time. Granite components, conventional construction methods, and mechanical systems are prepared with long-term performance and durability in mind, so execution on site remains controlled, efficient, and precise.

At Kusser’s German facilities, granite components are produced using CNC technology and skilled craftsmanship. Complex geometries, clean interfaces, and integrated anchoring details are resolved before the material reaches the jobsite. Our proprietary modular granite approach allows critical interfaces to be preassembled and tested in the factory before shipment. This improves installation accuracy, reduces the need for on-site adjustments, and optimizes the system for efficient international shipping.

Conventional Construction

Conventional construction remains an important part of many projects and is often the right answer for the site, the design, or the budget. The difference lies in how these builds are developed. Concrete structures and field-built elements are planned with the mechanical system already taken into account. That keeps technical requirements aligned from the beginning and avoids costly adjustments later in the project.

Mechanical systems are developed and built in-house. Pumps, filtration, controls, and supporting infrastructure are configured for the specific hydraulic demands of each project and tested before delivery. Fountain performance depends on how thoroughly the system is engineered before installation begins. Water behavior, service access, control logic, and long-term operation are all shaped at this stage. The same expertise supports rebuilds, retrofits, and renovation projects.

Construction & Assembly

On site, construction begins with the groundwork that supports the fountain system. Foundations, basin structures, and piping systems are built to prepare the installation that follows. From there, the system is installed in a controlled sequence with clearly defined connections and precise placement. Surrounding architectural elements are assembled as part of the same scope. This can include granite surfaces, stainless steel components, glass elements, cast metals, precast pieces, and other custom materials developed for the project. The fountain and its architectural context are built together, allowing the full composition to function as one. Before handover, the installed system is connected, calibrated, and tested on site under real operating conditions.

Kusser acts as a turnkey specialty contractor, maintaining continuity from fabrication through commissioning and final handover. Granite production, mechanical systems, site construction coordination, installation, and startup are aligned within one structured process. At completion, the feature is fully operational. On-site owner training and a customized Owner's Manual support long-term operation and maintenance, ensuring sustained system performance.
